Community Event - Chicago Author Series: Alex Burkholder
Free, thought provoking discussions about our regional history and culture with local authors and those who write about it. Authors from around Chicagoland will present their books in a fun and informal fashion every Saturday in October at 1pm. Join us for a deep discussion, coffee and refreshments in the Netzley/Yender Farmhouse. Seating is on a first come basis. Free parking available in the lot in front of the Beaubien Tavern, at Village Hall, and in the commuter parking lots. October 19 "Death of the Angels" by Alex Burkholder Alex Burkholder completed 46 years in newspaper, broadcast, and TV journalism in Chicago (including WGN Radio-TV and ABC 7). His accumulated knowledge of the fire has made him an expert on the subject. His book marks the 60th anniversary of the tragic Chicago School Fire. It features interviews with victims not previously available to the public. The book also provides evidence that the fire was the work of a student arsonist.
