State of Village Address at Chamber Luncheon
Mayor Joseph Broda, presented his State of Village address, January 16, 2014 at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville. Mayor Broda covered the flood of 2013, saying it was the worst flooding in 35 years that he has even seen in Lisle. He spoke about how the police and fire department and volunteers helped the families that were displaced. He gave the Community Spirit award to Troop 108 of the Boy Scouts for their dedication to helping the families of the flood. He said the village board has new trustees, Tony Carballo, Rob Getz, Brad Hettich, and Bob Mandel. Police Chief Jim Kosatka retired from the police department after 34 years and Mary Lou Kalsted retired after working with the village for 32 years. New Police Chief, Dave Anderson and Marilyn Sucoe is the new storm Water administrator. Mayor Broda said the new event in the Village last September, the Lisle Ale Fest will be again presented by the Lisle Area Chamber. Last year is was a sell out, the chamber had to turn away attendees. Mayor Broda looks forward to continued development that further enhances the Village and increased resident participation in Village government. Mayor Broda was elected as Mayor in 2001. He has lived in the Village for 30 years and has been on the Village Board since 1986.
